Family Support

At Moorside we try our very best to communicate with and provide support for parents. We highly value parent input and aim to work with them as partners, ensuring their children make the most of their educational opportunities. We have a designated Parent Support Partner called Judith Rose who will help parents access appropriate services in the local area. She can be reached directly on 01670 523509 or on her mobile number  07923042311. She also has an e-mail address: JURose01@northumberland.gov.uk.

The school tries hard to help children with their punctuality and socialisation skills. We run a daily Breakfast Club to help children get into school on time and make friends. Working parents who struggle to have their children looked after for twenty minutes before school starts also use this facility. It costs 30p each day.

Children who are having a few problems grasping the complexities of reading can take part, with their parent or another family member, in a project called Stepping Stones. This project provides parents and children with support to play games together. Each game gradually tackles some of the mechanics of learning to read. It is a fun, game based session and takes place for one hour each week over ten weeks. The games are taken home and used to reinforce the skills learned in school. The project is suitable for all levels of ability.
